Kamieńczyk Waterfalls
– the highest waterfall in the Sudeten
Mountains. The rapid of waterfall is located
at the altitude of 843m a.s.l. The waterfall
comes down forming a three-level cascade,
27m high, falling into a stunning gorge of
Kamieńczyk. The gorge is about 100m long;
its vertical, rocky walls are over 25m high,
while the width in some parts does not
exceed 4m. Behind the middle cascade there
is a cave called “The Golden Cave”, partly
hammered by the Walloons, rich in pegmatites
and amethysts. “Kamieńczyk” hostel and
“Sielanka Hut” are located by the waterfall.

Szklarka Waterfalls
– picturesquely located on the area of the
Karkonoski National Park enclave. In the
central part of Szklarka Gorge – Szklarka
Waterfalls forming a cascade falling down
from the attitude of 13.3m and narrowing at
the bottom. At the left bank of the rocky
threshold there are magnificent pot-holes.
There is a hostel “Kochanówka” by the
waterfalls.

Śnieżne Kotły
(Snowy Kettles)
– two best shaped and very well preserved
postglacial kettles in Karkonosze. They are
separated by a narrow rocky roost and pushed
into the northern slope of the main crest of
Karkonosze, between £abski Szczyt and Wielki
Szyszak. Vertical rocky walls are almost
150m high, the top edge of the Big Kettle is
located at the altitude of 1490m a.s.l. At
the bottom of the Great Kettle there are two
small Śnieżne Stawki (Snowy Ponds). The Big
Kettle (eastern one) is 800m long and 600m
wide and together with the Small Kettle
(western) they constitute a strict sanctuary
of nature on the area of 127 hectares. The
name “Kettles” stems from patches of snow,
which can be preserved there, under the
vertical rocky cliffs, until late summer (in
1970 till 2nd September).Śnieżne
Kotły have also become the richest reservoir
of mountain flora, not only in Karkonosze,
but in the Sudety Mountains as a whole.
Above Śnieżne Kotły there are rocks called
Czarcia Ambona – a view point to see the
bottom of the kettles, next to it there is a
building of TV transmission station.

Szrenica
–
the peak dominating over the town (1362m
a.s.l.). A chair lift “Szrenica” can take
you to the top, where there is situated the
famous mountain hostel “Szrenica”. Even
though Szrenica is not a high mountain, the
skiing conditions here are similar to those
in the Alps at the altitude of 2000m a.s.l.
This natural advantage results in the fact
that for the last few years works have been
carried out to create a modern skiing centre
SKI ARENA SZRENICA. This means 20km
of ski trails on the slope of Szrenica and
at the picturesque Hala Szrenicka, as well
as the whole range of ski lifts, making up
the skiing infrastructure.

Krucze Rocks
– a magnificent group of rocks at the right
bank of Kamienna river, at the altitude of
718m a.s.l. They are made up of two grand
granite blocks forming an excellent view
point. The Centre for Extreme Sports of the
“Quasar” Mountain School functions there.
Rock climbing can be practiced here with the
assistance of a professional instructor, as
well as the slide down by means of “tyrolka”
slide, jump on the, so called, pendulum or
walk over a precipice along a swing bridge.

Crooked Towers
–
located
at the left bank of Kamienna river, 18m high
granite group of rocks. In the south wall
there is a small cave created as the result
of pegmatite deposits’ explosion.

Death Curve
– on the road between Szklarska Porêba and
Świeradów Zdrój, at the altitude of 755m
a.s.l. there is a very sharp bend (almost
180’). It is a great view point to admire
the panorama of Karkonosze and Jelenia Góra
Valley. The Death Curve owes its name to
numerous accidents caused here by careless
drivers.

Wysoki Kamień (High Stone)
– the peak rising from the west over
Szklarska Porêba, 1058m high, located at the
High Crest of Izery Mountains. At its top
there are picturesque rocks making up a 30m
high roost. From the top you can admire one
of the most beautiful panoramas in the
Sudety Mountains. Karkonosze, Rudawy
Janowickie, Izery Mountains and Izery
Plateau, Kaczawskie Moutains and the
Plateau, as well as Jelenia Góra Valley are
visible from this point. At the top there
are foundations of a hostel pulled down in
1963, a view tower and there is a small
shop.

Szrenica Mountain
Złoty Widok (Golden View)
– Grand rocky threshold over the Kamienna
Valley, a very good view point on Karkonosze
– Szrenica and Śnieżka.

Chybotek (The Wobbling Rock)
– since XIXth century one of the main
tourist attraction of Szklarska Poreba. A
few meters high group of rocks, made up of a
few blocks. The top rock, has 4m in
diameter, supported in two points can be
wobbled easily. Due to its shape it was also
called “The Bowl of Sugar”. There are
Valonian stories and legends about the Ghost
of the Mountains connected with Chybotek.
The rock is surrounded by a cloud of mystery
and according to old tales it was supposed
to close the entrance to an underground
treasury.

Czerwona Jama (The Red Cave)
– artificially created in the process of
excavating pegmatites. The cave is 6m deep
and about 4m high.
